Privacy Policy

Who we are

FAWOYE LIMITED (RC 959569), Ilorin, Nigeria (“FAWOYE”, “we”, “us”) operates fawoye.com. We craft made-to-order footwear and deliver nationwide across Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@fawoye.com.

What we collect

Order information. When you buy from us we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and details of the items you order. We need this to make your shoes, take payment, deliver your order, and provide support.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Paystack. Your card details go directly to Paystack over a secure connection — we never see or store your full card number. Paystack’s own privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.

Newsletter sign-ups. If you join our mailing list we store your name and email address with Brevo, our email platform, and use them to send you the updates you asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Messages. If you contact us by form, email, or WhatsApp, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and keep a record of what was agreed.

Analytics and advertising data. Like most online stores we use cookies and similar technologies: Google Analytics 4 (how visitors use the site), Microsoft Clarity (anonymised usage patterns), and the Meta Pixel (measuring advertising). These collect device and usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, and browser type. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time.

Why we use it

We use your information to: fulfil and deliver orders; take secure payment; provide customer support and handle returns under our Refund & Returns Policy; send service messages about your order; send marketing you have opted into; understand how the site is used so we can improve it; and meet our legal obligations, including tax and consumer-protection law.

The legal bases we rely on

Where the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the NDPR, or (for customers in the UK/EU) the GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of: contract (fulfilling your order), consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (site security, improving our store), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers who help us run the store: Paystack (payments), our delivery partners including Terminal Africa (shipping and tracking), Brevo (email), Google, Meta, and Microsoft (analytics and advertising as described above), and Hostinger (website hosting). Each provider processes your data under its own safeguards. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

International transfers

Some of our providers store data outside Nigeria (for example, on servers in the EU or US). Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, including standard contractual protections.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per each tool’s standard retention settings. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete data we no longer need; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time (including unsubscribing from marketing); and complain to your data protection authority — in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC); in the UK, the ICO. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@fawoye.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep the cart and checkout working and cannot be switched off. Analytics and advertising cookies run only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw via the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, payment is handled by Paystack’s secure infrastructure, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No online system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Children

Our store is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and revise the date below. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
